Comparing a job that pays by the hour with one that quotes a yearly salary? Enter an hourly rate to see the equivalent weekly, monthly and annual gross pay, or switch to “Salary to hourly” and enter a yearly figure to get the hourly rate. Hours per week defaults to 40 and weeks per year to 52; change these if you work part time, get unpaid time off, or want to account for holidays (for example 50 weeks). All figures are gross, before taxes, benefits and deductions. Overtime, bonuses and tips are not included.
How it works: Annual = hourly × hours per week × weeks per year. Monthly = annual ÷ 12. Weekly = hourly × hours per week. Reverse: hourly = annual ÷ (hours per week × weeks per year). With 40 h and 52 weeks, one year is 2,080 hours, so $1/hour ≈ $2,080/year.
